I have an obsession with crop tops, it seems! First my shirred crop top and now this! I have seen this shirt in many places all over the internet (and in dress form too!). I used a tutorial to create my own pattern for it here. My first one was a total disaster, made from a thick button down shirt that I thought would work. Suffice to say, it didn’t. Then, I unearthed a terrible hospital-gown-like dress that I made a few months ago and never posted about (Butterick 6858), and decided to make my crop top from that. It came together really quickly and I’ll probably make a bunch more soon!
My skirt is self-drafted as well, it’s just a knit tube with pocket panels and elastic at the waist. It’s a bit shorter than I’d like it to be, but it’s still really wearable. The fabric is so comfy and soft! The one thing I don’t like about the skirt very much is the way the pockets fall. I wish they’d lay flat on the rest of the fabric rather than sticking out the way they do.
