Guess what! We made oilcloth wallets! I made one first, and then sent the pattern to Margo. The pattern and tutorial are from National Sewing Circle, and here is a link to the pattern. The project is really quick, but cutting out your pieces of the pattern takes forever. The thicker oilcloth you have, the easier this project will be. If you have thin oilcloth, you may need to make variations in the hems.
One variation for the pattern we thought of would be to add a pocket for your phone. We were thinking you could add another zipper pocket under the other, being careful not to sew them together. You could also add a grommet for a key ring or a removable strap. Feel free to try these and make your own variations. Happy sewing!
